Bishop James Church Jr.
Faith Church Ministries Inc
"Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."
Isaiah 43:19 (KJV)
Bishop James Church Jr., was born in Crescent City, Florida. Bishop Church by way of his parents is a native of Northampton County Virginia, known to many as the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Bishop Church is a graduate of Northampton High School located in Eastville, Virginia. Upon graduation Bishop Church enlisted in the U.S. Military and spent a few years in the U.S. Army. After returning home from a final tour of duty overseas in 1991 Bishop Church later plotted a new course. Bishop Church furthered his education at Woodridge Business Institute(Automation) and Grand Canyon University(Sociology).
Since that time he has continued to further his education both in the private sector and in the realm of the church with various courses in business administration, evangelism and church leadership.
It was in the year of 1992 that Bishop Church took a full comittment unto the Lord and began to understand the call of God that was placed upon his life. He sought the counsel of his surrounding leadership which varied until he met Bishop Percy Maddrey a few years later. Under the guidance of Bishop Percy Maddrey and Vice Bishop Richard Coates of United Churches of Faith, Bishop Church was trained and ordained. As the process of ministry moved forward, Bishop Church began to move forward in his mantle and served in various capacities in the body of Christ. During his tenure with United Churches of Faith, Bishop Church served in the capacity of Evangelist, Assistant Pastor, Pastor (Yahweh Church of Faith), State and District Overseer for the entire network of United Churches of Faith.
In the year of 2006 Bishop Church received the call again from God and was consecrated to the office of Bishop by a quorum of Bishops Council under the direction of Bishop Donald L. Redden, Grace Tabernacle Inc., located in Laurel Delaware. After consecration Bishop Church continued to Pastor in Maryland and began to hold fast to his charge of office by increasing his ministry presence in Maryland and beyond.
In the year of 2011 Bishop Church received yet another call by God. This call was concerning the passing of the God given vision from his uncle, Bishop William L. Northan, Founding Prelate of New Jerusalem Lifechanger Ministries. The passing of the vision included the process of pastoring the Headquarters Church located in Onancock, Virginia for an appointed time. Truly it was an honor to accept the charge to Pastor for a season, such a church led by a well known matriarch of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
For such a time as this, Bishop Church continues to serve the body of Christ with the utmost desire to expand the gospel of Jesus Christ. He currently serves as the Senior Pastor of Faith Church Ministries Inc, Va Beach, Virginia.
In addition to all efforts of local community work Bishop Church continues to be involved in International ministry as well. Bishop Church is a member and holds an International license under United Christian Ministerial International. Bishop Church who believes that family is community and community is family, was previously honored as a three state recipient at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore by a Tri- State Council of the Omega Si Phi on March 1, 2009 for his community outreach involvement for the Tri-State area, (Maryland, Virginia and Delaware).
In his uniqueness to find various ways, to reach and serve the masses, Bishop Church was inspired and authored a book entitled, "Faith Grip, Holding On To The Promises Of God." To help others reach their goals Bishop Church started his very own publishing services. Bishop Church is a very humble man who loves the Lord and he shares his love with his family. Bishop Church is married to the lovely Lady Donita Church and when he is not working in the ministry he can be found spending time with his family.
